For the Comella’s project in Newton, the design focused on creating a space that reflects the family’s deep roots and history. A feature wall displays black-and-white family photographs, curated to tell the story of the owner’s heritage. Complementing this personal touch, the project collaborated with Elianara Raquel, a talented painter and muralist, to enhance the interior with unique illustrations and hand-painted graphics, adding warmth and character to the space.

The design balances rustic and modern elements, incorporating exposed brick walls, vibrant yellow tones, and custom signage to create a welcoming and memorable environment. The space is tailored for both dine-in and takeout customers, with carefully planned layouts to optimize flow and functionality. It harmonizes contemporary aesthetics with nostalgic storytelling, making it not just a restaurant but a tribute to the family’s legacy
